Our Mission: The primary mission of the Maryland Environmental Restoration Group (MERG) is to provide strategic planning, harvesting, and transportation alternatives of all related coal combustion products (CCPs) for the purpose of beneficial reuse.
MERG Corp., has been a leading marketer of fly ash, gypsum, and coal combustion related materials for the past sixteen years.
MERG Inc., was founded in 2002 through the coordinated research and development efforts of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Spirit Energy, and the Power Plant Research Program (PPRP) of Maryland.
MERG’s original purpose was to provide marketing and transportation of CCP’s to various cement plants to aid in the production of Portland cement while offering an alternative to landfill disposal for the generators of CCPs.
